Terms of Service

A PLATFORM FOR ACCREDITED PROFESSIONALS

Pathfinders provides (1) a seat-licensed research and case-prep platform for accredited VA claims agents, attorneys, firms, and VSOs, and (2) separate VA-accredited representation services for appeals delivered by an accredited claims agent or partner attorney firm. The two have different rules; the terms below distinguish where it matters.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pathfinders, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CODEXr Inc.

2. Description of Service

Software platform. Pathfinders offers a seat-licensed research and case-prep platform for accredited representatives: a general-information chat assistant, the Research Desk (a query-based regulations research tool), a compensation estimator, and a case-prep engine. The platform presents the governing law and the record so the accredited expert forms and executes strategy themselves. It does not constitute legal advice or claims representation, and it does not generate strategy on its own.

Accredited representation (appeals). Separately from the software, an accredited Pathfinders claims agent (or, when appropriate, a vetted partner attorney firm) may offer to represent a veteran on a VA appeal. Representation begins only when a written engagement agreement is signed with the accredited agent or firm.

Within a representation engagement, the platform operates as the agent's research and drafting tool. The accredited agent reviews and adopts the work as their professional product before it is used.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Consents

Pathfinders uses a three-tier consent model. You may grant or revoke the optional consents at any time in Settings → Privacy & Consent.

  • Primary use (required): permission to collect and use your information to deliver the service you signed up for.
  • Research & training (optional): permission to use anonymized information to improve our AI and study aggregate outcomes.
  • Third-party sharing (optional): permission to share information with vetted research partners, foundations, or — in the event of a corporate transaction — an acquirer.

See the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Policy for the full description of what each consent covers.

5. Pricing and Payment

Seat licensing: Pathfinders is licensed by the seat to accredited claims-agent firms, attorneys, and VSOs. Pricing is value-based, contract-driven, and seat-based — a seat gives a rep the capacity of an extra researcher or paralegal for a fraction of a salary. Contact us at jon@codexr.ai for partner pricing and terms.

Accredited representation fees: Initial claims (first-time service connection) are handled at no cost to the veteran, consistent with 38 U.S.C. § 5904's fee bar. Appeals and post-decision work are handled on a contingency basis, agreed in writing in advance and filed with the VA pursuant to 38 C.F.R. § 14.636. Partner attorney firms bill the veteran directly under their own engagement letters; CODEXr does not receive a portion of attorney fees.

[WSGR FINAL — placeholder]

License term, renewal, and cancellation terms; seat true-up and proration; express disclaimer that no fee is charged for initial-claim representation under § 5904; contingency-fee disclosures for appeals consistent with § 14.636.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and AI-generated output on the Pathfinders platform is owned by CODEXr Inc. You retain ownership of the personal data and military service information you submit. Strategies prepared during the accredited representation pathway are the professional work product of the accredited agent who reviewed and adopted them.

[WSGR FINAL — placeholder]

Allocation of ownership of derivative work product between CODEXr, accredited agents who are CODEXr employees, and partner firms whose accredited reps use the tool under a B2L license.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pathfinders is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any specific claim outcome will be achieved. We do not guarantee any particular disability rating, benefit amount, or appeals outcome.

8. Limitation of Liability

CODEXr Inc. shall not be liable for VA decisions or damages arising from your reliance on educational content. For services delivered under the accredited representation pathway, liability is governed by the engagement letter between you and the accredited agent or firm.

[WSGR FINAL — placeholder]

Cap on liability for the educational pathway; carve-outs for the accredited representation pathway and partner-firm engagements; treatment of B2L customers separately from end-user veterans.

9. User Conduct

You agree not to: share your account credentials with others, use automated tools to scrape or access the service, misrepresent your identity or service history, use the service for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to reverse-engineer the AI tools.

10. Data and Privacy

Your use of Pathfinders is governed by our Privacy Policy and our Consumer Health Data Policy, which describe how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including military service and health data.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised “Last updated” date and, where the change affects the accredited representation pathway, by direct email. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

[WSGR FINAL — placeholder]

Choice-of-law and forum-selection clauses; state-specific carve-outs (Utah, California, and the other claim-shark statute states identified by gc.ai); class-action waiver enforceability across applicable jurisdictions.
